I’ve listened to you and continue to work hard for:

SMART GROWTH:

• Slow, appropriate residential growth, adjacent to municipalities and services, that preserves our quality of life.
• Countywide Regional Planning: 
• Support for the Regional Planning Commission (all towns and the County represented)
• County Unified Comprehensive Plan Strong support of the Plan and the 40 acre rule

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP:

• Clean, renewable energy: vigorous support of sustainable energy sources such as windfarms, with
• conditions to address area citizen’s concerns
• GO GREEN Initiated with Julia Fauci (Dist 9) an educational initiative with seminars and a website to
• help citizens find ways to conserve both water and energy. http://www.dekalbcounty.org/GoGreen/gogreen.html
• Solid Waste Committee to find solutions for the remaining life of the County Landfill.
• Stormwater Committee-just appointed-for finding long term solutions to recurring water problems
• Preservation of Farmland: support of initiatives to help farmers stay on their land.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:

• Property tax relief, and a diverse industrial tax base that includes not only warehousing, but
• retail, office, technology and research to bring in higher paying jobs
• Tough standards for tax abatements to companies
• Frequently attend monthly DeKalb County Economic Development Corporation programs
• Transportation: We must develop mass transit and ways to link DeKalb with Elburn station to provide
• relief from traffic and damage to roads.

SAFETY:

• Jail Solution.- since costs are mushrooming to transport prisoners from our overcrowded and
• dangerous jail AND:
• Alternatives to jail, such as the new Drug Court, prevent repeat arrests and help people regain their lives.
• EXPERIENCE ON COUNTY BOARD:
• Presently Vice Chair and Legislative liaison
• I have served 5 years, do my homework, and actively work toward my core goals above.
